Entrepreneurial, inspirational, ambitious, creative – these are the qualities the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) is seeking in their first Chief Advancement Officer (CAO). The incoming CAO will be responsible for growing philanthropic resources for PJ Library, the award-winning book-gifting program that delivers storybooks that share Jewish values, culture, and traditions to more than 680,000 children around the world each month.

Since 1991, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation has invested more than $320 million in programs that make Jewish life and Jewish community more vibrant and more connected. Today the Foundation supports an assortment of innovative programs – with the newest initiative always just a spark of inspiration away.

Founded by real estate guru and successful businessman, Harold Grinspoon, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation is one of the most entrepreneurial and business-oriented non-profits in the nation.

Expansive growth nationally and internationally of the Foundation’s flagship program, PJ Library, as well as increasing opportunities to provide funding leadership and resources across HGF has created an opportunity to enhance the Advancement program. HGF currently raises $15M annually from community partners, major donors, foundations, and the PJ Alliance. Trustees have set ambitious goals to increase philanthropic support over the next five years.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Advancement Officer will be responsible for raising more than $20 million annually for PJ Library and leading a talented advancement team.

The CAO will be deeply committed to the mission of growing the reach of PJ Library and strengthening the Jewish community around the world; be experienced with best practices in all areas of development including, major and principal giving; planned giving; corporate and foundation relations; advancement services; donor relations/stewardship; and have experience inspiring and managing high performing teams of frontline fundraisers.  The ideal candidate is passionate about the Foundation’s mission and will approach fundraising for PJ Library strategically and with an opportunity mindset.

Working in close partnership with, Harold Grinspoon, Founder, and Winnie Sandler Grinspoon, President, the CAO will be an external representative of the Foundation and will also serve as the key internal partner to the Managing Director of PJ Library and Chief Partnership Officer.
