JOB TITLE: Communications Manager

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

ANTICIPATED HIRE DATE: January 9, 2023

Job Summary

The Communications Manager will join a talented administrative team, working directly with and reporting to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for communicating synagogue events and programs across multiple online and print platforms, including website, weekly email updates, social media, weekly print updates, and seasonal print publications. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with colleagues and lay leaders to develop, edit and disseminate all communications materials across various electronic and print platforms
  • Promote the synagogue’s activities through frequent postings to multiple social media channels 
  • Develop a social media strategy for our community
  • Maintain and develop content for the synagogue’s website
  • Design, edit and disseminate the sysngogue’s two weekly electronic newsletters and stand-alone emails
  • Design and produce various print materials including weekly Shabbat announcements, posters, fliers and brochures 
  • Design and edit TIC’s seasonal Hadashot bulletin 
  • Create zoom and livestream links as needed

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Occasional evening and weekend commitments based on communication needs
  • Flexibility to perform other administrative duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Jewish lifecycle events and holidays required
  • Knowledge of Hebrew language and Hebrew alphabet strongly preferred
  • Exceptional written skills including copy editing and proofreading
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and multitasking skills
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and efficiently with staff and volunteers
