Whether it’s meeting with members of Knesset, justices of the Supreme Court or technology companies, every trek brings Israel to life through a combination of education, culture and fun. Since its founding in 2011, over 20,000 graduate students across 103 nationalities have visited Israel with itrek, returning to campus with a more nuanced understanding and appreciation of Israel. 

itrek is a growing 25-person team based in New York and Israel that continues to operate as a fast-moving and nimble organization. We love exploring new ideas and collaborating as a team to push ourselves and our thinking.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the HR & Operations Associate will contribute to the establishment of best-in-class operational and human systems in support of itrek’s mission and growth plans. The HR & Operations Associate has a varied set of responsibilities across all aspects of operations including HR, culture, technology, and facilities. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional task management and communication skills, and is interested in building new and elevating existing operational processes and systems. 

Primary Responsibilities

Talent Management

  • Support the recruitment process by administering and managing searches within Greenhouse, posting job descriptions to the itrek website and third-party sites, and  screening incoming resumes.
  • Craft and send a weekly hiring update report to the Chief Operating Officer and Hiring Managers, including proactive next steps for all open roles. 
  • Manage and execute the on-boarding process for all new hires. 
  • Complete all off-boarding steps and ensure a smooth transition when an employee leaves  the organization. 

Employee Engagement

  • Plan and execute culture-building initiatives  including; staff development opportunities, team special events, holiday and anniversary celebrations.
  • Help to develop company policies and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain the master Employee Handbook doc and make any relevant, new updates as needed. 
  • Ensure all documents and policies are both present and consistent for the US and Israel offices.
  • Support in creating an inclusive organizational culture in which all members feel that they are valued and supported.

Operations and Technology

  • Support productivity and efficiency by implementing improved operational procedures
  • Execute surveys and oversee data collection of responses
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of office services including in-person office operations, reviewing and executing supply and IT requests.
  • Research new technology solutions for the organization and prepare summaries of the options.. 
  • Support the implementation plans for organization-wide technology initiatives to maximize productivity. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of prior experience in operations, HR and/or administrative functions
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Passion for itrek’s mission
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, attention to detail , and execution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and responsiveness
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products and Google Workspace
  • Experience with workplace technologies, including Survey Monkey, a plus

Salary range $50,000-$60,000; commensurate with experience

itrek is a hybrid work environment with a minimum of two days per week in the office. To be employed by itrek you must be fully vaccinated and to work in the office/attend in-person company events, you either need to be up-to-date with your booster shot or comply with a testing requirement.
