The Aquarian Minyan, a Jewish Renewal congregation located in Berkeley, California, seeks a person with both executive and hands-on skills to manage day-to-day operations. We are the oldest Jewish Renewal Community on the West Coast, founded in 1974 and inspired by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Our congregation has no permanent physical space, but has had a national presence on Zoom since the beginning of the Pandemic. The Minyan offers weekly virtual Shabbat services and events, and hopes to soon return to live, in-person/hybrid events. We also have a growing ongoing virtual Yeshiva program that hosts a wide range of Jewish topics and many renown teachers. You will be joining a congregation with a long history of both excellent rabbis and strong lay leadership. We welcome people of every level of Jewish observance, all ages, single and partnered, LGBTQI and straight, and seekers from many spiritual traditions. 

 Job duties will include:

  • Work from your home office and at in-person events
  • Coordinate Zoom events and classes and in-person/hybrid events
  • Provide administrative support to rabbi as needed
  • Provide administrative support for Minyan projects and events as needed
  • Work with various committees (including Programming and Fundraising) to provide administrative support for their initiatives
  • Manage communications, including web site, Facebook, and newsletter; advertise and promote events and classes publicly and in-house
  • Book venues, help plan events, provide online support
  • Receive and respond to mail, email, and phone calls


Skills required:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills; detail-oriented
  • Excellent people skills; enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Tech savvy. Comfortable with SquareSpace, Constant Contact, Facebook, databases, and Google Docs
  • Familiarity with Jewish traditions and culture; familiarity with Jewish Renewal a plus
  • Ideally, you will be based in the San Francisco Bay Are to assist in live, in-person events when that is possible.



 - 18-22 hours/week; additional hours during the two months before and during the High Holy Days

 - Start at $25-$30/hour
