Full-Time | Some evenings/weekends required

Position Summary:

 

Congregation B'nai Aviv, a vibrant and growing Jewish community in Weston, Florida, is seeking a Communications & Programming Manager to manage all marketing, communications, and social media efforts, while coordinating member programming that fosters engagement, connection, and Jewish life. This role is central to ensuring our community is well-informed, inspired, and connected through meaningful events and clear, consistent messaging. Working in close partnership with clergy, staff, and lay leaders, this individual will steward the synagogue’s voice, build relationships across the community, and ensure that programs and messaging reflect the mission, values, and warmth of Jewish communal life.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Communications & Marketing

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote synagogue programs, services, and community initiatives.
  • Manage and create content for all digital platforms, including the website, email newsletters, and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Design flyers, graphics, and other promotional materials for events and programs.
  • Ensure branding and messaging are consistent across all communications.
  • Draft press releases, announcements, and articles for community and local media outlets.

 

Member Programming

  • Coordinate, promote, and support synagogue programs for diverse demographics, including families, young professionals, and seniors.
  • Collaborate with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to plan events aligned with the synagogue’s mission and Jewish values.
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and volunteer support.
  • rack attendance, collect feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.

 

Internal & External Relations

  • Maintain effective internal communication between staff, clergy, and lay leadership.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for communications inquiries.
  • Build relationships with community partners, Jewish organizations, and local media to extend outreach

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Jewish Studies, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, event planning, or community engagement (nonprofit or synagogue experience a plus).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and digital marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, etc.).
  • Ability to design promotional materials and manage content calendars.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, and values preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and Jewish holidays for special events.

  • Must be comfortable working in a warm, relational environment where flexibility and responsiveness are essential.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience.
