Network Director

Purpose of the Role:

At Jewish Kids Groups, we’re helping bring joyful, camp-like Jewish After Schools to communities across the country. This role will build and support the new and growing network of Jewish after-school programs and professionals. 

In this role, you won’t manage people, you’ll connect them. You’ll organize gatherings that feel like reunions even when participants are meeting for the first time. You’ll ensure that the wisdom of a veteran educator in one city reaches a brand-new site in another. You’ll distribute the tools, curriculum, and playbooks that help Jewish after-schools feel confident and supported. You’ll track data and gather stories. You’ll also help surface and communicate grant opportunities to program directors, aligning new resources with their local program goals. This position is essential for scaling an impactful new model of Jewish education and for building a field of Jewish Afterschool professionals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Hold the Center of the Network

• Cultivate ongoing relationships and be the main connector for 20+ Jewish After-School sites across the country.
• Coordinate communication channels, peer learning circles, and collaboration sessions.
• Design and manage a “Community of Practice” with monthly virtual meetups, webinars, trainings, site visits for staff and partners, and annual in-person forums.
• Keep a pulse on what's happening in each community—and help each one feel seen and supported.

Time: 40%

Bring the Tools to Life 

• Manage collection and distribution of shared resources, toolkits, curriculum, templates, and grants, including communicating and facilitating relevant grant opportunities with partner organizations.
• Collaborate with JKG staff (e.g., HR, marketing, finance, curriculum, development, etc.) as well as other Jewish After School leaders to align support services and expert guidance.
• Help educators and directors find and use resources that make their work easier and more impactful.
• Track which resources are working, what needs updating, and where there are gaps to fill.

Plan Gatherings with Heart and Purpose

• Organize our annual network convening from start to finish.
• Lead logistics, communications, and post-event reflections.
• Make every gathering feel like a campfire—warm, fun, and full of learning.

Time: 20%

Track Our Collective Impact

• Support the collection of data across sites—enrollment, staffing, finances, family engagement, and more.
• Help develop dashboards that don’t just measure metrics, but tell stories.
• Support Network-wide quality improvement through evaluation consulting and data-informed planning. Keep an eye on what’s working—and where support is needed.
• Document and share best practices across the Network.

Internal and External Relationships:

• Jewish Afterschool Program Directors across the Network, including Atlanta-based flagship operations
• JKG Team (Curriculum, Operations, Marketing, HR, Evaluation, etc.)
• Other JKG employees, partners and subject matter experts
• Conference collaborators and local stakeholders

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in nonprofit program management, community organizing, network building, or education.
• Experience working with a diverse and dispersed group of stakeholders; influencing without authority.
• Familiarity with adult learning concepts and programs.
• Experience creating and executing communications and training programs.
• Expertise in technologies such as Zoom, Google Suite and/or MS Office Suite of Tools including Google Sheets/MS Excel 
• Growing Proficiency in use of Chat GPT or other AI tools
• Ability to travel up to 10% annually if located in Atlanta, and up to 25% annually, if Remote

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Jewish education or informal Jewish learning settings.
• Experience in or deep familiarity with synagogue structure and dynamics.
• Experience supporting peer learning networks or coaching professionals.
• Experience administering grants, events, or program evaluation.
• Located in Atlanta or able to travel frequently to Atlanta

• Ability to Drive Programs and Processes Consistently: Leads the implementation and continuous management of initiatives, systems, and resources with minimal oversight. Tracks progress through metrics, meets deadlines reliably, and ensures consistent delivery across programs and stakeholders. 
• Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactively seeks and applies feedback, data, and evaluation tools to assess effectiveness and improve results. Demonstrates a commitment to learning, iteration, and the pursuit of operational excellence.

Key Measures of Success:

• Engagement and Communication: Maintain active communication with at least 90% of Jewish After-School Program Directors, as measured by participation in at least one touchpoint per quarter (e.g., email response, virtual gathering, or feedback form).
• Event and Training Execution: Organize quarterly virtual training events and in-person site visits, with at least 70% of partner sites participating annually and consistently strong attendance and engagement.
• Participant Satisfaction: Achieve high satisfaction ratings on post-event surveys, with feedback indicating relevance, value, and quality across national events, trainings, and site visits.
• Network Impact Documentation: Produce an annual impact report or case study demonstrating the network’s value (e.g., improved program quality, increased staff retention, or new funding secured by sites); maintain a running tracker of “network wins” and qualitative stories to highlight peer-to-peer learning and impact.

• Bring the Tools to Life: Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance a centralized, easy-to-navigate resource library that partner sites rely on regularly for high-quality tools, templates, and guidance.

Other Logistics:

• Work Hours: May include occasional evenings or weekends for national events.
• Location: Preferred in Atlanta; remote considered. If based outside of Atlanta, costs related to travel will be negotiated.
• Travel: 10% expected, including national conference and site visits (25% if not local to Atlanta)
• Must be comfortable working across time zones and via Zoom and collaborative platforms.

Compensation:

• Salary:  Annual salary starts at $70,000 commensurate with experience and skills,with cost of living raise annually in August and retention increase annually on JKGversary
