Kesher Educator Position

Have you always wanted to work with kids? Did you love (or hate) your religious school experience and want to make sure the next generation of learners gets to do so in a dynamic and engaging way? Then teaching at Kesher is the job for you. We are looking for creative, passionate and engaging part-time educators in our k-6th grade programs. Classes meet at different times Sunday-Tuesday. Job Description for 25-26 year

Kesher: The Center for Jewish Life is the dynamic learning program for grades K-12 at Temple Israel of Westport. We are looking to hire a creative, passionate and engaging part-time Kesher educator for various grades, K-6. Classes meet at the times listed. We offer a competitive salary and an enjoyable work environment.

  • Sunday mornings between 9:00a-1:30p (split among 3 sessions)
  • Monday afternoons from 4:15p-6:00p
  • Tuesday afternoons from 4:15p-6:00p

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children between Kindergarten-7th grade in a group setting.
  • Working knowledge and interest in Judaism and Jewish life.
  • Ability to flexibly differentiate teaching based on students needs and interests.
  • Ability to plan and teach lessons based on the subject areas as communicated by the Rabbi Educator.
  • Excellent communication skills; verbally, written and interpersonally.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Likes to be creative and have fun!
