High Holy Days Family Service Leader

Temple Sinai, a vibrant Conservative congregation in Dresher, PA (an outer suburb of Philadelphia), seeks an engaging and knowledgeable individual to conduct meaningful and interactive Family High Holy Day Services for families with children up to 5 years old on both mornings of Rosh Hashanah (Tuesday & Wednesday, Sept. 23-24) and Yom Kippur (Thursday, Oct. 2). These services are designed to provide an age-appropriate, participatory experience that fosters spiritual connection, learning, and joy. The service will be held outdoors under a large tent which can accommodate 150-200 people and will run for 60 minutes.

The ideal service leader will:

1. Lead dynamic and spiritually enriching Family High Holiday Services, incorporating traditional prayers, music, and storytelling.
2. Create a warm, inclusive environment that encourages participation from children and parents alike.
3. Deliver engaging explanations of the High Holiday themes, prayers, and Torah readings in an accessible and meaningful way.
4. Integrate music, movement, and interactive elements to keep young attendees engaged.
5. Have strong knowledge of High Holy Day liturgy, melodies, prayers, and Conservative movement traditions.
6. Be experienced in leading engaging and participatory services which are engaging for both young children and adults.
7. Exude warmth and be an approachable presence with the ability to connect with children and families.
8. Bring joy and ruach to the service experience

The service leader can either make use of an existing prayer pamphlet or introduce his/her own.

Ability to play the guitar is preferred but not required.

Adult staff and volunteers will be present to aid with logistics during the service.
