Description

Congregation Beth Shalom is looking for an upbeat and organized administrative assistant to support our Jewish Life and Learning (includes Adult Education and Programming) and Membership departments.

The administrative assistant works in a team environment, and must exhibit an interest in adult education, programming and working with congregants. They will also exhibit a positive attitude, flexibility, a can-do spirit, and attention to detail.

The successful candidate thoughtfully manages priorities, is a welcoming and clear communicator, is an organizer and planner at heart who has supported or led in-person programs or events and is a go-getter who is eager to find answers and trouble-shoot to ensure a wonderful experience for our congregants. 

WORK SCHEDULE

Working hours are generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1:00 PM on Fridays); additional hours will occasionally be required evenings and weekends.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for program registration process (maintain records, create registration forms, and update website)
  • Respond to program inquiries from individuals and families 
  • Inventory and order supplies, including food and printed materials
  • Assist with program logistics (set up, delivery, and clean up)
  • Help create program materials and communication with marketing (paper & digital)
  • Assist with administrative duties and special projects as needed    

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • administrative experience required, preferably 1-3 years in a non-profit environment
  • Experience with program or event coordination is a plus
  • Software expertise, including proficiency in MS Office, CANVA and the ability to learn additional programs
  • Ability to work (independently or collaboratively) on a variety of projects simultaneously and to manage deadlines
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact and Shulcloud is a plus

VACCINATION POLICY 

  • All staff must be fully vaccinated, including booster shot(s). Proof of vaccination required at start of employment
