Head Teacher: Mickey Fried Preschool at Oheb Shalom Congregation 3s Class

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and implement the preschool curriculum in a classroom of up to 15 three- and four-year-old students on a Monday-Friday schedule during the hours of 9am-1pm or 9am-2:30pm
2. Develop a cohesive teaching rapport with assistant(s)
3. Manage day-to-day operational activities of the classroom

The Ideal Candidate will:

1. Understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.
2. Be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
3. Have an open, positive attitude, and be ready to collaborate with a team of teachers.
4. Be reliable, dedicated, and passionate about their profession, and be a positive role model for other teaching staff and students.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Early Childhood Education preferred
• Recent experience teaching in a preschool setting or other area of instruction a plus

• Salary commensurate with experience
• School is in session September-June
