Description

We have several office staffing needs that potentially could be filled through either a full-time position or multiple part-time positions. Candidates should indicate their interest in a f/t or p/t position and their expected salary.

Administration Support

  • Staff concierge desk: answer phones, greet visitors, liaise with members, vendors, and staff.
  • Accept, track, and acknowledge donations.
  • Manage bulk mailings, including printing, packaging, sorting, franking, and coordinating with the post office.
  • Maintain office supply inventory, schedule service calls.
  • Provide administrative assistance to Rabbi and Executive Director.

Operations Support

  • Liaise with b’nai mitzvah families and schedule photographs, create handouts, coordinate with catering and facilities.
  • Liaise with catering committee, caterer, and sponsor families to assure that needs are met, room setups are completed correctly, and maintain food staples and catering supply inventory.

Marketing and Communications

  • Collaborate with staff to produce publicity and communications, including event publicity, registration management, social media, advertising, website, digital signs, and email and printed bulletins.
  • Produce high quality graphic design elements for use in online and print media.
  • Organize and manage electronic storage of files.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and leadership skills to interact with diverse lay and professional leadership as well as members and guests.
  • Strong problem-solving and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams / groups.
  • Ability to represent the synagogue in a highly professional manner.
  • Receptive to and accepting of guidance from supervisors as well as volunteers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Willing to learn other computer applications / software.
  • Strong command of English.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Jewish culture, holidays, and rituals as practiced in the Conservative movement, and command of basic Hebrew phrases commonly used in synagogue life.
  • Knowledge of synagogue management software (such as ShulCloud).
  • Experience working in a synagogue, school, catering facility.
