Beth Israel Congregation is looking for a creative, innovative part-time marketing professional to help build Beth Israel’s “brand,” promote our programs and events, and help to keep us relevant in the digital world. Remote and local applicants are both welcome to apply for this position.

Beth Israel Congregation is a 400-family Conservative synagogue in Owings Mills, Maryland. We are a warm, friendly community with a small, highly committed staff and an active and engaged membership.

Responsibilities:
• Create Beth Israel branding with a consistent “look and feel.”
• Manage Beth Israel’s social media presence, including Facebook and Instagram.
• Manage external consultant in modernizing website; maintain/update website content.
• Do targeted marketing for events that will help broaden our base of support amongst those looking for programming in the Conservative movement.
• Design and implement targeted marketing strategies to increase participation in all of our programming
• Work with our team to create shareable content appropriate for Beth Israel; ensure all communications have compelling graphics (in flyers, weekly newsletter “Divrei haShavua,” as well as the monthly Guide.)
• Work with vendors to find advertising opportunities that will help amplify Beth Israel’s presence in digital media.
• Design and manage production of print materials (brochures, flyers, as needed) for Beth Israel members, as needed.
• Assist the “arms” of the Congregation (Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Hazak) and various committees to complete flyers and other digital projects, as needed.
• Take photographs and/or videography of synagogue events (occasionally, non-Shabbat only (only if local applicant).

Requirements:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
• Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices.
• Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Constant Contact.
• Able to work 20 hours per week in our office or remotely.
