Description

Jewish Association for Residential Care (JARC), located in Boca Raton, Florida is searching for a Director of Major Gifts and Grants to join our team. JARC's focus is to bring purpose, dignity and a sense of belonging to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the Director of Major Gifts and Grants, you will work closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Community Relations and the Chief Executive Officer to plan, implement and report on all activities related to financial resource development for the agency. In this position, you will be responsible for helping JARC achieve fundraising goals for the annual campaign and unrestricted gifts including grants and corporate sponsorships. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating the identification and cultivation of new donors at all levels for JARC while building relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of our agency. You will also monitor fundraising trends and grant opportunities to ensure that JARC is in the forefront for fundraising in the community.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prospect research and develop leads from the broader Palm Beach County community.
  • Proactively connect with new and existing donors to extend the reach of the agency.
  • Support and attend all fundraising events and activities.
  • Prepare and submit, in conjunction with the Senior Director of Programs, grant applications as outlined in the development plan to generate funds for JARC.
  • Design and implement a plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate, community, and individual prospects for JARC's fundraising priorities.
  • Develop and coordinate an agency campaign targeted at individuals and families aged 50 and under.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation in securing planned gifts including Leave a Legacy.
  • Develop outreach program to residential communities.
  • Assist in the development of a comprehensive communication plan to promote JARC to its donors and maximize public awareness of fundraising activities of the agency.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred.
  • 5-7 years of professional fundraising and campaign experience.
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with fundraising software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including oral and written.
  • Excellent team player who is comfortable in social settings and excels at interacting with people.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings for fundraising activities.
