Advocacy Coordinator – JFriendsVoice

Part-Time (On-Site) – 20 hours per week on average

Temporary Position – September 15, 2025 – February 1, 2026

Reports to: Chief Learning and Engagement Officer

Job Summary:

JFriendsVoice is a new initiative to build community while countering propaganda hostile to Israel and the Jewish people.  It requires customizing and rebranding a cutting-edge global software application that has been successful in a broad range of organizations.

This position will coordinate with the Jewish Federation’s marketing, engagement & Israel advocacy professionals to implement the rollout and adoption to engage 200 active members by January 1, 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Partner with the marketing team on digital rollout of the app

Recruit and Engage Users

  • Coordinate outreach to community leaders to be early adopters and to recruit and inspire their circles to get involved (e.g., Federation Board members, committed donors, Israel Changemakers, synagogue leaders, and leaders of existing SRQ Jewish Facebook groups)
  • Work with Federation staff to recruit new users at several in-person events

Curate Advocacy Content

  • Create a pool of diverse content that caters to a range of constructive perspectives and advances community connections. Message content can be selected from a variety of credentialed sources. Final content will be approved by the CEO and/or Chief Learning and Engagement Officer.
  • Target Goal is to post content at least three times weekly.
  • Motivate existing users -- e.g., Spotlight inspiring users to motivate others  

Maintain Engagement

  • Motivate existing users –e.g., Spotlight inspiring users to motivate others
  • Maintain respectful discourse on the platform 
  • Interact with users as needed to ensure community standards are kept  
  • Provide support to new and existing users as needed 

Availability:

Due to the nature of the content that will be shared on this platform and the need to respond to events as they unfold, a quick response will be required, which may necessitate working outside of regular business hours, including weekends and evenings. Availability to start immediately.

Key Competencies:

  • Familiarity with anti-Israel and anti-Jewish social media and tropes.
  • Digital & social media proficiency 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Adept at engaging with people with diverse political perspectives, building rapport, and fostering collaborative working relationships.
  • Exceptional adaptability in fast-paced environments.
