Temple Sinai, a Reform congregation 1,600 families strong, is seeking two energetic, warm and creative professionals to join our dynamic education department staff as our full time Youth & Teen Engagement Managers. These two positions will facilitate the planning and execution of all engagement opportunities for youth and teens in Grades K-12 under the support of the Director of Youth & Teen Learning and Engagement. The primary focus of both positions will be serving as relationship builders with our youth and teens, and engaging our youth and teens in our Noar Sunday, Noar Hebrew and H.U.B*. programs, experiences and through connections with others. The Youth & Teen Engagement Managers are essential members of the education professional staff to envision, shape, and implement changes where necessary in the programmatic life of our congregation.

*Noar Sunday & Noar Hebrew are Temple Sinai’s Religious School programs; H.U.B. (Hadrachah u’Chesed v’Bina:Leadership through Kindness & Wisdom) is our teen engagement program.
Qualities of Ideal Candidates
Temple Sinai’s new Youth & Teen Engagement Managers should possess:
- Experience working with youth/teens in a congregational and/or camp setting
- Ability to build authentic relationships with kids, teens and their parents
- Collaborative working style and demonstrated capacity for creative thinking and leadership and programming skills
- Solid work ethic; Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in a Reform environment
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Good sense of humor, passion for learning, proven reliability and responsibility, and a desire to work collaboratively with a professional team

Duties & Responsibilities
PLEASE NOTE: The responsibilities listed below will be split among the TWO full-time Youth/Teen Engagement Managers hired, based on each person’s strengths and interests.
Youth Engagement
- Serve as main relationship builder for youth in grades K-6, both those in Noar Sunday and those who attend Jewish Day Schools.
- Create opportunities for children to create friendships and community with one another.
- Build relationships with parents to help them foster friendships for their children at Sinai.
- Serve as an adult role model for youth in grades K-6.
- Foster facilitation of small groups for youth based on interest, geography, schools, etc..
- Participate in Temple wide events involving youth and their families
Teen Engagement
- Serve as main relationship builder for teens in grades 7-12.
- Create opportunities for teens to build networks and connect with one another.
- Foster a post B’nei Mitzvah teen community built upon relationships, a sense of belonging and spiritual/personal growth
- Foster facilitation of small groups for teens based on interest, geography, schools, etc.
- Serve as an adult role model for teens in Grades 7-12.
- Participate in Temple wide events involving teens and their families.
Noar Sunday & Hebrew
- Serve as “rosh (lead)” for the Chugim (electives) program in Noar Sunday, working with the specialists and staff to implement.
- Coordinate all lesson plans, supplies and materials needed for chugim.
- Support teachers and Madrichim in implementing and facilitating chugim curriculum and experiences effectively.
- Serve as Sunday Hebrew “rosh”, building community with Noar Hebrew students who stay after Noar Sunday and supporting the Hebrew teachers and Madrichim.
- Coordinate, manage and lead children’s enrichment programs in the Library (ie: book clubs) and other special enrichment programs for Grades K-6.
- Serve as Hebrew Chavurah teacher and/or B’nei Mitzvah tutor (depending on Hebrew knowledge and comfort level).
Teen Madrichim Coordinator
- Serve as Madrichim coordinator for Grades 7-12, overseeing recruitment, training, schedule and ongoing management of the program.
- Oversee Madrichim in Training “rosh (lead)” and work with them on logistics and coordination.
- Create and help to implement ongoing leadership development curriculum that scaffolds from Madrichim-in-Training (Grades 7-8), to Jr. Madrichim (Grades 9-10), to Sr. Madrichim (Grades 11-12).
Teen Learning (H.U.B. Sunday) Coordinator
- Coordinate teen learning programs on Sundays.
- In partnership with other K-12 Education staff, support teen learning staff in planning and implementation of programs, as well as overall teen learning calendar and special programs.
- Support teen learning staff in planning and implementation of programs.
- Work with clergy to engage them as teachers in our teen programs.
Youth Groups
- Coordinate youth group programs for K-12 and a culture of participation among our youth and teens.
- Hire, train and supervise staff for all youth group programs and serve as lead relationship builder at programs.
- Coordinate efforts to engage day school students to participate in youth group programs.
- Create a post B’nei Mitzvah youth group culture, including teen leadership boards and opportunities for teens to plan and implement their own programs.
- Encourage, and at times, attend, teen participation in Jewish teen life throughout Atlanta, including NFTY, BBYO, CCC, etc.
Trips/Experiences
- Plan and implement trips and/or retreats for grades 4-12, in partnership with other education staff.
- Oversee all logistics and details for the trips
- Hire and train all staff for the trips
- Work with clergy to ensure their involvement and support of trips
- Recruit and communicate regularly about the upcoming experiences
High Holy Days Youth Programs
- In partnership with other K-12 education staff, support the development and implementation of youth and family programs for the High Holy Days.
- Manage all teen Madrichim working in the youth programs
Communications
- Point of contact from K-12 department to the Communications department.
- Work with Communications department to implement communications vision and plan for all youth and teen programs, including weekly emails, photo management, blogs, social media, texts, etc.
- Manage communication efforts to Noar, teen and day school families.
- Respond in timely manner to emails, phone calls and texts from parents and staff
Other
- Attend Program Staff, Full Staff, Education Department, and Youth/Family & Teen Committee meetings (as needed).
- Assist in creating a positive, warm environment in the Youth & Teen Learning & Engagement department
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as necessary as determined in conjunction with the Director of Youth & Teen Learning & Engagement
