Are you ready to make a measurable impact on the lives of individuals and families across South Florida? We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations of a respected, long-standing nonprofit organization. This role offers an opportunity to shape the future of a community-centered organization while ensuring financial integrity, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all accounting and financial operations, including AP, AR, payroll, GL, and financial reporting for multiple programs and business units.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations.
  • Oversee preparation of weekly and monthly KPI dashboards and deliver insights to leadership and the board.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of annual audits, income tax filings, and compliance reviews.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls, accounting systems, and paperless financial processes.
  • Oversee insurance policy selection, vendor management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and develop a team of 10 staff members, including a Controller and Grant Billing Manager, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Partner with the COO, agency President, and board to provide strategic financial analysis and guidance.
  • Participate actively in organizational events, community initiatives, and leadership meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years leading accounting teams.
  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit financial management, including grant compliance and fund accounting.
  • Proven track record of process improvement, technology adoption, and dashboard/KPI reporting.

Work Environment & Benefits
This is a fully in-person role based in South Florida. Work is primarily performed in an office setting, requiring adaptability to shifting priorities and deadlines. Leaders are expected to participate in major organizational events that strengthen community engagement and team culture.
