Location: Goldsmith Early Childhood Center, Baltimore, MD
Reports To: Director of Early Childhood Education
We are looking for a dedicated 2's Teacher to join the collaborative team at the Goldsmith Early Childhood Center (GECC), a Jewish early childhood program serving children ages 2 to 5. This position focuses on creating a nurturing, engaging environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of two-year-olds through developmentally appropriate activities. At GECC, children learn through a child-centered curriculum that encourages observation, exploration, creativity, and hands-on experiences within a caring and supportive setting.
Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of two-year-olds.
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
Observe and assess children's progress, documenting milestones and areas for growth.
Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and classroom experiences.
Collaborate with fellow educators to plan and execute center-wide events and activities.
Ensure compliance with all Maryland State Department of Education regulations and Goldsmith Early Childhood Center policies.
Education: Minimum of the 90 hour child care certificate; Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience: Eperience working with children aged 2-3 years.
Certifications: Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and a passion for early childhood education.
Judaic Knowledge: Familiarity with Jewish holidays, customs, and traditions is preferred but not required.
Capacity to engage in activities that involve bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor.
Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience. $30,000/year range
