Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Early Childhood Education to serve as the educational leader of the Early Childhood Program. The Director is responsible for all compliance with DCF and State guidelines and regulations pertinent to the operation of the early childhood program and facilities. Candidates must have a minimum of an associate degree or higher in early childhood or related field, be able and willing to work a flexible 40+ hour work week and have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Qualifications:

  • Florida Directors' Credential
  • Level 2 Background Clearance
  • Prior childcare director or assistant director experience is required
  • Associate degree or Higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Certified in CPR/BLs
  • Knowledge of ELC, VPK, Accreditation, Classroom Observations, Marketing etc.
  • Knowledge of licensing requirements
  • Possess strong organization and communication skills including team building, conflict resolution, and motivational skills.
  • Excellent grammar, communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Computer/Tech and social media savvy and ability to learn new/changing software.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Internet and social media platforms.
  • Able to work year-round, school and camp; 40+ hours/week, some evenings and weekends.

*Only applicants with Childcare Care Center Director experience and a valid Child Care Director Credential will be considered.

Responsibilities of the Early Childhood Director may include (but are not limited to):

  • Motivate, engage, and develop a strong team of diverse early childhood educators.
  • Responsible for the implementation of school policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Guide staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum; Judaic programming knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Lead the special event and holiday programming for the school, including but not limited to: Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Tu B'Shevat, Family Fun Day, Purim, Passover, Mother's Day, Graduation and others to be determined.
  • Lead the lower summer camp program, including supervision of camp staff, programming, scheduling, and parent interaction.
  • Create an aesthetically pleasing and positive environment for staff, parents, and students.
  • Develop appropriate relationships and maintain good rapport with staff, parents, and students.
  • Support the social media presence of the Early Childhood Learning Center program and events.
  • Conduct classroom observations.
  • Exercise appropriate and professional decision making.
  • Provide support for all school and camp events.
  • Provide support to the PTO and their events including but not limited to fundraisers, holiday events and any special events.
  • Provide support and relief for Early Childhood staff as directed.
  • Provide support to Early Childhood parents as directed.

  • A willingness to be flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for special events.
  • Excels at communicating to parents, board members and staff about the goals of our programs. Able to interact professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel.
  • Must be willing to work occasionally on Shabbat and holidays for programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing situations calmly and effectively
  • Warm and engaging; Love for children; Kind, patient demeanor
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various stages of social, emotional and intellectual development of young children
