Our client is the American Friends of Yeshivot Bnei Akiva www.afyba.org

They are seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead the organization as they continue their strategic growth.

The right candidate will be a creative, high energy, emotionally intelligent individual. He or she works well independently and can also foster strong, effective work relationships with remote colleagues. He or she is a passionate advocate for Israel and strengthening education support for religious youth. He or She wants to apply their administrative, fundraising and programming expertise to this cause. The Executive Director will work in conjunction with the Israeli network, and report to the US Board of Directors.

The job is remote. Candidates must live in NY, NJ or CT. Periodic travel to South Florida and other states, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Development: Create and implement a fundraising strategy including but not limited to the following activities:
  • Identify and engage new prospects and opportunities through research, networking, and outreach for philanthropic support.
  • Face-to-face meetings with existing and prospective donors for solicitation, cultivation and recognition.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to create plans and innovative programming and events, to build and promote awareness of the YBA “brand” in the US.
  • Create personalized outreach and follow-up strategies that deepen donor connection
  • Cultivation of leadership and membership: Working with the current board of directors to develop and implement strategic programming, as well as recruiting new members to the board
  • Serving as a public relations ambassador and spokesperson, including maintaining an active presence on social media with assistance from the AFYBA service providers
  • Represent the organization in meetings, at events, and conversations
  • Seek opportunities for Scholar In Residences in Synagogues, High Schools or other public speaking events, inviting leaders of YBA in Israel to give YBA exposure to new communities and potential donors
  • Attend relevant conferences within the US, that provide for networking opportunities with prospective donors
  • Periodic visits to Israel to learn more about the Yeshivot and Ulpanot the Executive Director will be representing
  • Working closely with Israeli home office to keep abreast of developments, needs and opportunities within the network.
  • Track interactions and fundraising activity and contribute to internal reporting

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a Development department.
  • Proven success with donor facing fundraising.
  • A self-starter with ability to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment. You thrive with autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; excellent writing. Organizational and communicative skills
  • Creative, versatile and high-energy individual with ability to innovate, generate ideas and multi-task
  • Experience with CRM software. Familiar with DonorDock, a plus
