Role Overview

The Director of Grants Management, Field Grants is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Hillel International’s grant strategy and operations. The Director will accomplish this by leading a change management process to streamline Hillel International’s grant administration that has historically been decentralized within each program team. As the lead of the Grant Management System, Fluxx, the Director ensures that the system is set-up to meet the needs of both the program teams as well as the grant applicants. The Director is an experienced grants management leader with expertise in effective grant life-cycle administration, and is committed to creating user-friendly and accessible systems.

What You’ll Do

Grant Management System 

  • Maintain ownership of the grants management system, Fluxx, including leadership of all back-end functions, training on use of the system, and management of improvements.
  • Ensure that Fluxx is designed with a user-centric focus. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of training on the use of Fluxx, along with documentation and other materials.
  • Improve the process and workflow of Fluxx so that the system is operating as effectively as possible.
  • Oversee the individual responsible for the technical administration of Fluxx.
  • Ensure Fluxx is set-up so that program teams are able to measure and report on their impact to both internal and external stakeholders. 

Collaborative Change Management

  • Streamline grant operations across the organization through collaborative change management.
  • Identify commonalities across grant applications, forms, agreements, reports, payments etc., and design a process that can be implemented across the organization.
  • Develop standardized timelines, templates, decision-making and evaluation frameworks etc. for different types of grants. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Data to ensure that the right data is being collected at the right moments and shared with the right stakeholders to inform grant decision making.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Grants Relations, Field Grants to design and implement these changes. 

Grant Strategy

  • Ensure that Hillel International’s grants operations are consistent with organizational goals and values.
  • Continually stay abreast of new developments with Fluxx and use this knowledge to enhance our grant operations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Impact & Evaluation, the Director of Grant Relations, Field Grants and program teams to assess the effectiveness of grant programs.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of work experience with at least 3 years experience in grants administration, specifically.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong systems orientation, with a track record of improving and enhancing existing grants management technologies; experience using Fluxx a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and someone who thrives as a member of a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills.
