Developement Director Position Summary:

Chabad Intown seeks a dynamic, strategic, and relationship-driven Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and expand our donor base. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cultivating and nurturing donor relationships, identifying and securing new funding opportunities, and managing the planning and execution of our annual campaign. This role is key to advancing our mission and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Donor Cultivation & Stewardship

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, foundations, and key stakeholders.

    • Develop and implement stewardship strategies to ensure donor satisfaction and long-term engagement.

  • New Donor Acquisition

    • Proactively identify, research, and engage potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors.

    • Create strategies to expand our donor pipeline and increase community support.

  • Annual Campaign Management

    • Plan, lead, and execute the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.

    • Develop campaign messaging, timelines, goals, and reporting metrics.

    • Coordinate with staff, board, and volunteers to maximize participation and results.

  • Communications & Fundraising Materials

    • Oversee the development of fundraising materials, including appeal letters, impact reports, and donor communications.

    • Collaborate with the communications team to align messaging and ensure consistent branding.

  • Events & Engagement

    • Support or lead fundraising and donor appreciation events.

    • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and donor meetings.

  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Track development metrics, donor engagement, and campaign performance.

    • Prepare regular reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in nonprofit development or related field

  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and campaign management

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Highly organized, strategic, and self-motivated

  • Proficient in donor management systems and fundraising software (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce, etc.)

  • Passion for the mission and values of Chabad

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with annual giving, major gifts, or capital campaigns

  • Familiarity with the local philanthropic community

  • Background in event planning or grant writing is a plus

 

Base salary plus potential for performance-based bonus tied to commission.
