Job Summary 

 

The Religious School’s Office Administrator ensures the efficient and organized office environment for Beth Israel’s Religious SchoolThe function is to provide a warm, welcoming office space for our congregants to learn about our school, enroll children in Religious School, and maintain positive relationships with school staff.  

 

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities 

 

  • Collect lesson plans and complete supply requests  
  • Maintain and update attendance, as well as tracking enrollment 
  • Maintain general office appearance  
  • Work with office madrichim (teens) on Sundays and Tuesdays to ensure smooth programming and snack sales, in conjunction with the Program Coordinator  
  • Offer tech support to teachers on Wednesday and Thursdays during online programming 
  • Update family information in ShulCloud as needed  
  • Maintain enrollment forms and ensure class placement, in conjunction with the Director of Congregational Learning, Director of Experiential Learning, and the Program Coordinator 
  • Ensure all new hire paperwork is turned in by teachers  
  • Collection of tuition and fees on Religious School accounts 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Congregational Learning  

 

 

Working Relationships 

  • Report directly to Director of Congregational Learning 
  • Collaborates with Director of Experiential Learning and Program Coordinator 
  • Interact with youth, members, volunteers, and community organizations as appropriate 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Abilities 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task; attention to detail 
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment and decision-making 
  • Expertise working with computer, word processing, Zoom, email, database, and spreadsheets

Work Hours Per Week Required 

Part-time position: 20 hours per week – 13 assigned hours, 7 flexible hours.  

 

Assigned Hours:  

Tuesdays: 2:00-8:00pm  

Wednesdays: 4:15-5:15pm (can be remote) 

Thursdays: 4:15-5:15pm (can be remote) 

Sundays: 7:30am-12:30pm
