Part-time Sunday School Music Educator

    Congregation Keneseth Israel in Allentown has an opportunity for a part-time musical teaching position in our Sunday School for the 2025-2026 academic year. The position will involve teaching morning sessions, lasting three hours each week. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for Jewish education, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing supportive and engaging learning envirnment.

Position details include most Sundays from 9:00 AM - 12:00PM, starting September 7, 2025 and ending May 17, 2026. Responsibilities include delivering engaging and age-appropriate music lessons in conjunction with the Rabbi and Religious School Director, collaborating with fellow educators to align curriculum and activities, and communicating with parents and guardians as needed.

Qualifications include previous experience in teaching or working with children in an educational or religious setting, strong knowledge of Jewish traditions and songs, knowledge of prayers and the ability to teach tunes to students of varying musical abilities, and preferred ability to play the guitar or piano to accompany musical lessons.
