This is a temporary position covering a family leave from mid-September 2025 through early February 2026.
Job Summary
Support a flexible, engaging, and nurturing kindergarten environment aligned with individual student abilities. Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, while fostering academic and personal growth. Support school programs in accordance with the SSDS Mission:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
A. Support smooth classroom routines and procedures.
B. Monitor student behavior and respond positively to prevent escalation.
C. Assist in delivering multi-sensory, movement-based lessons.
D. Interact with students respectfully and warmly.
E. Communicate clearly and effectively, reinforcing expectations and instructions.
F. Collaborate with the teacher to adapt lessons for struggling students.
G. Take initiative in adjusting instruction based on student needs.
H. Work with teachers and students to enhance learning.
I. Encourage student self-monitoring and assessment.
J. Provide constructive feedback using varied sources.
K. Maintain professional growth through training and development.
L. Collaborate with the grade-level team on curriculum and programming.
M. Deliver instruction as directed by the lead teacher.
N. Supervise students during non-classroom activities.
O. Teach daily Judaic Studies including holidays, Hebrew, and Shabbat.
P. Commit to best teaching practices per the Thoughtful Classroom framework: organization, routines, positive relationships, student engagement, thinking culture, preparation, presentation, reinforcement, application, and reflection.
