Description

We are looking for an experienced and effective Synagogue Administrator for our newly expanded and renovated synagogue. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with organizational and administrative experience to help manage and oversee a vibrant, growing synagogue in the North Riverdale section of the Bronx.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all synagogue communications including scheduling, crafting and responding to emails
  • Send out the weekly bulletin (including schedule, Dvar Torah, programming & events info) via email
  • Maintain synagogue calendar, including tracking bar/bat mitzvahs, life cycle events, etc
  • Upload and maintain synagogue information on website
  • Communicate with caterers/vendor to order food for all synagogue functions, events, Shabbat and holidays
  • Work with facility staff to ensure all logistics for functions and classes such as flowers, food and beverages etc. are carried out smoothly and meet our standards
  • Manage and coordinate acceptance and storage of all deliveries for the synagogue
  • Help maintain synagogue database
  • Assist with management of synagogue budget
  • Manage, invoice, monitor and send thank you letters for all synagogue pledges and sponsorships
  • Manage Memorial plaques / Yahrzeit process
  • Manage High Holidays tasks including seating for services, accommodating guest seating, etc.
  • Help manage all holiday events including Sukkah meals, Hanukkah party, Purim party etc
  • Coordinate directly Youth Directors in support of all youth programming
  • Collaborate with Rabbi, President and lay leadership in all matters pertaining to the operation of the synagogue.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite etc
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in a professional environment, preferably in a synagogue, school, youth, or religious organization or institution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic team
  • Personal qualities of collaboration, integrity, credibility and commitment to the community model
  • Working knowledge of Jewish laws and traditions
Salary30,000.00 - 50,000.00 Annual
