Position Summary
San Diego Jewish Academy seeks a charismatic Associate Director of Admissions who will represent and market the school to parents, prospective parents, and the community in order to bring in new students particularly for our Upper School (grades 6-12).  This role is ideal for someone who excels in building networks of relationships with outside institutions and groups, cultivates a best in class prospective family engagement experience from first point of contact, and gains the respect and trust of parents and other parties to provide a positive influence on their decision-making process for admission.  If you're passionate about education and thrive on dynamic, people-facing roles, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions is a key member of the Admissions & Enrollment Management team, helping prospective families understand what makes SDJA's Upper School an exceptional place to learn and grow.  While experience in school branding and admissions is helpful, we're also excited to meet candidates from fields like sales, recruitment, communications, or client services who bring fresh energy and a proven ability to engage and convert.

You will be kept busy with:
  • Coordinating the internal admissions decision process: compiling applicant information, convening decision-making conversations with Upper School leadership, and ensuring timely communications with families.
  • Being the primary point of contact for prospective Upper School families - from first inquiry through enrollment.
  • Planning and leading engaging tours, student shadow days, and Upper School admission events that showcase our vibrant school culture and values.
  • Building strong community relationships to develop feeder opportunities.
  • High touch management of application pipelines and guiding families through the admissions process.
  • Coordinating with division heads, faculty, and student ambassadors to deliver a warm, informative, and personalized admissions experience.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to fine-tune messaging and develop targeted outreach.
You're good at:
  • Active listening and sharing relevant information to make people feel seen, heard and understood.
  • Compelling storytelling that includes factual sharing of information in a manner that is accessible to the audience.
  • Following up, closing loops, and moving people towards decisions.
  • Event planning, networking, and public speaking.
You bring this to the table:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years' experience in recruitment, sales, outreach, client relations, or similar.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive mindset and team-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends for events, as needed.
  • Passion for education and community-based institutions.
  • Bonus if you've worked in independent schools or have insight into Jewish community culture.
Salary Range & Benefits Package:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $80-90k, depending on experience, education and qualifications.
Compensation will be pro-rated for a part-time position based on FTE (full-time equivalency).
