Torah Day School of Seattle is seeking a Full-time Rebbi to teach two multi-grade classes at the middle school level. The Rebbi should have a strong knowledge of decoding and fluency skills in Chumash, an effective methodology for teaching Haschalas Gemara, and 3-5 years of experience in successful teaching styles. The Rebbi should see himself as a role model for his students and embody Torah values. Incorporating a growth mindset into the classroom environment is one of the fundamental beliefs at TDS. TDS uses a progressive model of education, allowing for differentiated instruction and creative expression of ideas while maintaining a commitment to authentic Torah observance. We stress strongly the relationship between teacher and student as a model for success, as well as the teacher's ability to be flexible and creative in order to facilitate the learning process.
TDS of Seattle is a unique place to teach. We embody the philosophy of a "childcentered" approach. Teachers are guided to utilize a differentiated model of instruction to help students develop appropriately and to reach high standards of excellence in Torah and General Studies. The school has a dedicated Judaic and General studies staff that is functioning as a well-oiled team, guided by an experienced administration and supported by strong parent involvement and broader community commitment.
