About TalkIsrael

TalkIsrael is a nonprofit organization that aims to create a more positive and constructive dialogue about Israel among American teens using the power of social media. Through its free content, programs, and experiences, TalkIsrael empowers young American and Israeli creators to enhance their storytelling skills, develop their social media brand, and become advocates for positive change.

Position Overview

This role reports to the Executive Director and has the dual responsibility of providing crucial administrative support while also playing an essential role in supporting programming (e.g., content development, newsletter creation, and program facilitation).

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Executive Director including scheduling, note taking, and file management. Serves as a liaison between the Executive Director, other staff, and external constituents.
  • Drafts documents, letters, and email correspondence and designs visually appealing and informative reports, presentations, and communication materials using simple graphic design tools and software.
  • Attends relevant meetings (virtual and in-person), accurately records minutes, and action items, and ensures appropriate and timely follow-up
  • Creates agendas for weekly meetings
  • Responds to initial website inquiries
  • Facilitates programs, including communicating with program participants, scheduling meetings, and creating program presentations and materials
  • Manages contact lists and databases
  • Drafts newsletter content
  • Collects and saves relevant research, data, and learnings for future use
  • Coordinates with external vendors and other third parties
  • Participates in relevant webinars and communicates learnings to the team

Qualifications

The Program Coordinator must be thoroughly committed to TalkIsrael’s mission.

Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (communication, business administration, business management)
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in a similar role. Nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong track record of multi-tasking in a fast-paced, confidential, environment with varying deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with keen attention to detail
  • Fast thinker, self-starter, and self-learner
  • Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems autonomously
  • Proficiency in Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing programs such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, and Campaign Monitor preferred
  • Experience in web management software such as WordPress and Squarespace is preferred

Position details

  • Work hours: 9:00 – 6:00
  • Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits offered: Paid time off, health insurance, 401K
