Title: Development and Program Coordinator
Position Type: Full-time, on-site

The Negev Foundation is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Development and Program Coordinator.

The Negev Foundation supports development of Israel’s Negev desert and provides funding for a host of “quality of life “projects and programs in the Negev. Please see our web site www.negev.org and www.ohioisrael.org for more details.

The Coordinator is responsible for development efforts, including identifying new potential sources of funding and grant writing and preparation for projects the Foundation is involved with in Israel's Negev desert and the Ohio-Israel Ag & CleanTech Initiative (OIACI).

Position Responsibilities
Successful job applicants will be able to perform these functions:
• Prepare grant proposals to governmental agencies, private foundations, and individual donors.
• Build relationships with donors and community leaders through a variety of interactions, including hands-on fundraising activity.
• In conjunction with the President and the Board, develop fundraising goals and objectives that satisfy the needs of current projects, foundation expansion, and sustainability.
• Communicate with prospective supporters by clearly articulating the foundation’s mission and projects.
• Help with public relations including writing press releases and expanding awareness of the foundation through a variety of channels.
• Monitor e-newsletter statistic reports and integrate results of the reports with the foundation’s fundraising strategy.
• Working with the Director of OIACI, provide support with researching agriculture, water, and cleantech issues and businesses (ohioisrael.org).
• Assist in identify opportunities for business attraction, and collaborative R&D in agriculture, food, and water in Israel and Ohio, and present those opportunities to the appropriate parties.
• Maintain and grow the OIACI’s database of agriculture, food, and water companies in Israel and Ohio.
• Coordinate OIACI programs such as Professional Development Missions.
• Schedule in-person meetings with Ohio and/or Israeli agriculture, food, and/or water companies.
• Work closely with other members of the Jewish community, Jewish Federation and other organizations to bolster local support for development of the Negev.
• Ensure that an annual report is prepared for the Board of Directors for approval at a meeting time determined by the foundation’s President.
• Create print and electronic newsletters.
• Develop, coordinate website updates, and other social media platforms.
• Personally cultivate relationships with new and existing donors in an effort to increase their support of the foundation’s activities.
• Monitor news article and professional publications to maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and events in the philanthropic community, with an emphasis on Jewish philanthropy.
• Assist in creating email and social marketing communications.

Requirements
• Bachler’s degree or higher in Nonprofit Administration, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Communications, or other fields relevant to this position.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the nonprofit sector or communication or business administration.
• Success in grant management and grant writing.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM databases, and Outlook; comfortable learning new computer applications and working with cloud-based systems.
• Ability to multitask, effectively delegate, and work within a small team.
• Experience with evaluating and improving workspace processes and procedures.
• Verbal and written fluency in English. Knowledge of Hebrew desired but not required.
