Hebrew School Teacher

Anshe Emet Synagogue is a vibrant urban Conservative congregation with a collaborative staff and clergy who serves a diverse, dynamic, and welcoming community of over 1,200 families. Anshe Emet’s Hebrew School, The Joseph & Belle Braun Anshe Religious School, is looking for passionate teachers for K-8^th classrooms for the 2025-2026 school year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintaining the welfare of all children in their class or in an online meeting during school hours
• Creating a warm and nurturing Jewish environment
• Planning for each class and developing lessons to support the weekly curriculum
• Communicating progress to parents as appropriate and determined by the Director
• Letting the Director know by the end of each session if something happens during the school day that requires the Director’s attention

SCHEDULE

We offer a competitive stipend and are looking for teachers who can start immediately and work on Sundays from 8:30am-12:15pm. The school year goes until May 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A warm, positive attitude used to uplift all children
• Ability to effectively lead and teach a classroom of 10-25 students
• Immense patience for helping students through learning challenges
• Able to confidently communicate student progress to the Director and to parents
• Previous Jewish education experience preferred
