Job Title: Capital Campaign Specialist

Summary:
The Hilton Family Holocaust Education Center (HFHEC) is seeking a strategic and creative Capital Campaign Specialist to lead the design and implementation of a broad-based donor engagement campaign aimed at attracting 5,000 donors and closing out a $45 million capital campaign. This role will focus on securing gifts between $100 and $5,000, with a goal of 4,000 new donors.

The Campaign Specialist will be responsible for campaign strategy, messaging, branding, and outreach. They will also serve as the key liaison to an external marketing/advertising firm that will be contracted to produce campaign assets.

This position reports to the Executive Director and will work in close partnership with the Capital Campaign Director to ensure alignment with the overall fundraising strategy. During construction of the new center there is no central office, but applicants must be based in the Phoenix area.


Key Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with the Executive Director and Capital Campaign Director to define goals, target audiences, and success metrics.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential donor segments and develop tailored messaging strategies.
  • Create a detailed campaign plan, including timelines, budget recommendations, and communication channels.

Messaging & Brand Development

  • Collaborate on the development of compelling narratives, campaign themes, and donor-facing messaging.
  • Coordinate production of campaign materials, including digital content, print collateral, email marketing, and video.
  • Ensure consistency across all communications and platforms, aligned with HFHEC’s brand identity.

Campaign Execution

  • Lead all aspects of campaign launch, including press, social media rollout, email strategy, and community outreach.
  • Oversee day-to-day campaign activities, coordinating internal teams and managing external consultants as needed.
  • Leverage data and feedback to refine outreach approaches during the campaign cycle.

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  • Design and implement strategies to engage, cultivate, and steward donors within the $100–$5,000 range.
  • Support systems to manage donor communications and ensure accurate tracking through the CRM (preferably DonorPerfect).
  • Work with the development team to transition first-time donors into long-term supporters and annual members.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign performance in real time, analyze trends, and adjust tactics accordingly.
  • Provide regular updates to HFHEC leadership on campaign progress.
  • Develop post-campaign reports with key takeaways and recommendations for future initiatives.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading or supporting successful fundraising or public awareness campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft persuasive donor messaging.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and donor databases; DonorPerfect experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • A deep commitment to the mission and values of Holocaust education.
