Job Purpose: The Marketing and Communications Manager at BJBE is responsible for supporting the synagogue’s overall marketing and communications strategy, implementation and online presence. They will act as the primary marketing strategist, content manager, copy editor and graphic designer for the organization. The Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with the staff and volunteers to prepare marketing materials, emails and social media content promoting programs, events and the synagogue as a whole. This position requires ability to work independently, while coordinating and playing a vital role on the larger team. 

    

Basic Responsibilities: 

 

  • Create  and implement a marketing and communication strategy that appropriately leverages all available channels (e.g. website, email, social) and focuses on both acquisition of new members and engagement/retention of current members.
  • Manage BJBE’s social media presence across platforms including Facebook and Instagram while following the mission and design standards of the congregation. 
  • Develop and maintain a strategic content calendar detailing all marketing activities across all channels
  • Draft and assist with creating  electronic newsletters and emails 
  • Oversee content management, creation, design and editing of the special projects, flyers, etc.
  • Manage content on the organization’s website  
  • Utilize BJBE’s brand voice and graphic design skills to create attractive collateral pieces for the organization such as membership materials, brochures, event materials, flyers, postcards, invitations, print ads and social media graphics.  
  • Assist in archiving photos; attend and take photos/videos at events as needed  
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor  

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Associate degree in marketing, communication, graphic design or related field is required. Bachelor’s preferred. 
  • Creative, energetic and self-motivated.  
  • Experience or Interest in leveraging AI
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.  
  • Computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required. Video editing, Constant Contact, Wordpress and HTML knowledge preferred. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and extraordinary attention to detail  
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills: work well with others and interact positively with all constituents of congregation  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible 

 

 This position reports directly to the Executive Director

 

Salary45,000.00 - 55,000.00 Annual
