Title: Marketing Manager

Location: Bay Area or remote

Salary: $65,000-$70,000 (depending on experience)

Reports to: Director

About the Organization

The Institute for Curriculum Services (ICS) is a national nonprofit initiative based in San Francisco, CA, and founded in 2005. We are dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 education on Jews, Judaism, Jewish history and Israel in the United States. We do this by working with publishers to ensure that educational materials are accurate and balanced.

 

Overview

ICS seeks a motivated, experienced and mission driven professional to join our team. The Marketing Manager will be responsible developing and implementing an effective marketing and communications strategy that raises ICS brand awareness and increases participation in ICS programs. 


Primary Responsibilities

  1. Social Media, Communications Calendar, and Website
  • Manage ICS’s social media channels
    • Develop dynamic, engaging, and discursive content with a regular posting schedule
    • Promote ICS materials, workshops and events 
    • Develop sense of community and engagement with ICS across platforms 
  • Increase distribution and downloads of ICS curricula through targeted outreach  
  • Develop and maintain the ICS communications calendar while incorporating relevant Jewish, interfaith, and national holidays
  • Monitor and report social media campaign outcomes; make campaign adjustments based on metrics
  • Regularly maintain and implement website updates to reflect upcoming events and to promote new content
  • Enact SEO best practices to increase website traffic
  • Work closely with the Director and Deputy Director on developing a proactive communications strategy

 

  1. Graphic Design
  • Design eye-catching graphics and collateral materials, including event flyers, banners, website graphics, presentation decks, newsletters and other visual creation as needed

 

  1. Administration
  • Assist with vendor management (web development and marketing firm), and any future contracts with public relations and graphic design firms

 

 About You

  • Passionate about accuracy in history education and ICS’s mission overall
  • Natural and compelling story teller that can speak to a range of audiences while maintaining a consistent voice
  • Team player that can work both independently and collaboratively
  • Highly organized and can juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Have a great eye for effective and clean design
  • Enjoy diving into data in order to gain insights and make strategic decisions

 

You Have

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including work as a Social Media Manager, or similar role, preferably on behalf of an educational nonprofit organization
  • A. in marketing or communications preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce, Mailchimp, Pardot, website CMS systems (e.g., WordPress, SquareSpace, Expression Engine), Canva and Box
  • Track record of building and launching successful marketing campaigns
  • Versed with publishing social media advertising content optimized for engagement, including a variety of targeting strategies
  • Strong editorial and analytical skills
  • Experience documenting and reporting on marketing metrics
