Director of Early Childhood Education

Ramat Shalom Beth Israel Synagogue, Plantation, Florida

 

Ramat Shalom Beth Israel (RSBI) is in search of an innovative and engaging director to lead our Early Childhood Center (ECC). The Director, who reports to the Director of Lifelong Learning and Engagement and the Vice President of Administration, will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued growth and success of our ECC which is a model of excellence in early childhood education through VPK.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

  • Manage all aspects of the RSBI ECC including the infant, early childhood and camp programs.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the ECC, including hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, HR management and student and family management.
  • Develop, execute and oversee the operating budget for the ECC.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Foster a love of Jewish learning, values, holidays and traditions into daily activities and learning.

Enrollment Development:

  • Manage the enrollment process from inquiry to enrollment, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for families.
  • Create and execute a marketing plan (both internal and external) to maintain and grow enrollment from 90 to 110 students.
  • Conduct tours and showcase the ECC for prospective families
  • Maintain accurate records of enrollment, data, including inquiries, applications, admissions, and retention rates.

Parent & Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with parents through effective communication & regular updates.
  • Build connections with synagogue members and the broader Jewish community to promote collaboration and support of the ECC program.
  • Organize and facilitate family-oriented programming and events to encourage connections to celebrate Jewish culture and traditions.

Child Welfare & Safety:

  • Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all children and staff.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment that meets or exceeds licensing standards.


Qualifications:

  • Current Florida Advanced Directors Credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field
  • Knowledge of state licensing regulations for infant/toddler and early childhood programs
  • Passion for early childhood education
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Jewish values, holidays and traditions preferred

 

This is a full-time, 12-month position with a competitive salary and benefits package, inclusive of vacation time, synagogue membership & health insurance.
