Tamim Academy Student Coach/Shadow

Tamim Academy is seeking a compassionate, patient, and organized Student Coach for our first grade program. In this role, you will be supporting individual students in accessing their classroom curriculum/activities and engaging with their peers. You will report directly to our Director of Child Development and internalize and implement positive behavior and academic support plans for individual students in the classroom. You will support and partner with the lead teachers in the classroom to provide executive functioning and social emotional support. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Internalizing and implementing individual child and classroom based systems to support a smooth, joyful learning environment
  • Internalize and implement supportive behavioral, academic, and social emotional plans for individual students and supporting teachers in implementing these plans
  • Provide updates for family communication on a daily and weekly basis 
  • Promoting an educational vision and day-to-day operations that put student learning and the student experience at the center of the work
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the Director of Child Development

The Ideal Candidate Will Show:

  • A deep love for children and the belief that children are always trying their best and it is our job to support them in meeting them where they are and getting where they need to be
  • Demonstrated organization and behavior management skills, along with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability and patience to support children
  • The ability to support a positive classroom culture and family partnerships
  • Empathetic communication skills in a clear, courteous, and professional manner
  • Reflective, growth-mindset thinking toward self and others, along with a willingness to examine and grow his/her own practice
  • General knowledge of cognitive and social-emotional development of children ages 5-8

  • Has integrity and a strong work ethic, and takes responsibility for actions and decisions
  • Is an honest and open active listener
  • Can be flexible and manage multiple tasks, especially during the school day

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
