Yaldaynu Preschool, located in Manhattan, is excited to invite new and experienced teachers to apply for full-time classroom teacher and substitute teacher positions for the 2022-2023 school year. Our classrooms serve children aged 2-5 years old. Teachers work in teams of two to three and will be supported by the Program Director and an educational consultant. We are looking for responsible, passionate and creative teachers who are lifelong learners with a positive attitude and a love for children.

Yaldaynu is a welcoming neighborhood preschool that provides quality early childhood education. Yaldaynu is a place where excellent education, grounded in the Reggio Emilia and constructivist approach, is seamlessly combined with Jewish values and cultures. Job Description:
• Plan, execute, and collaborate with other teachers on emergent curriculum
• Support and encourage the social, emotional and intellectual growth of all students
• Manage classroom to maintain a positive and nurturing environment, as well as providing meaningful learning experiences suited to each child
• Collaborate with your teaching team, as well as the Program Director, educational consultant, families, caregivers, and support service staff
• Document and reflect on children’s work and progress throughout the school year
• Communicate with families about the daily activities in the classroom, make learning visible and accessible

Qualifications for classroom teachers:
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• NYS Early Childhood Certification or enrollment in an Early Education Degree Program (strongly preferred)
• Compliance with Department of Health training requirements
• Familiarity with progressive educational philosophies, such as Reggio Emilia
• Knowledge of and familiarity with Jewish tradition, practice and culture
• Patience and flexibility; ability to relate to young children and communicate with parents

Qualifications for substitute teachers:
• Bachelor’s degree in education or in an undergraduate program
• Successful completion of background check through NYC Department of Health and fingerprinting with IdentoGo 
• Experience with young children; patience and flexibility
• Familiarity with progressive educational philosophies, such as Reggio Emilia (not required, but preferred)
• Knowledge of and familiarity with Jewish tradition, practice and culture (not required, but preferred)
