As we evolve our clergy structure and expand our approach to music and worship, we are seeking a flexible, skilled, and inspiring music professional to join our team and help deepen the musical experiences that elevate Jewish life across all generations.

The Role

The Education and Ritual Music Specialist will enrich Temple Sinai’s musical life across worship, education, and life-cycle events. This exciting, multi-faceted role blends music education, worship leadership, and community building with congregants of every age in our community.

Responsibilities

• Teach and lead music weekly in Nursery and Religious Schools; prepare students for holiday and Shabbat celebrations.
• Lead and grow adult and teen band programs.
• Co-lead monthly Friday Shabbat services with clergy; co-lead our lay-driven Shabbat morning minyan (Kehillat Shabbat) once a month.
• Serve as cantorial soloist for Mincha B’nei Mitzvah and Shiva Minyanim.
• Partner with our clergy, educators, and lay leaders to infuse music throughout synagogue life.

Qualifications

• Strong vocal and instrumental skills (guitar and/or keyboard).
• Knowledge of Jewish liturgical, contemporary, and classic music.
• Experience educating children, teens, and adults in Jewish musical settings.
• Collaborative and flexible approach.
• Familiarity with Reform Jewish repertoire.

Compensation: $80,000 + generous benefits
