B’nai Israel Congregation’s Teen Advisor will be the professional responsible for direct oversight, management, and coordination of teen programming, including formal and informal educational and social experiences, focusing primarily on teens in grades 9-12. They will collaborate with the Youth Coordinator and will be supervised by the Associate Rabbi.  

 Community Builder

  • Create connections with and between teen members of the congregation through one-to-one conversations, group meetings, and other relational practices.
  • Recruit teen participation in congregational programming including but not limited to holiday programs such as Latkes & Lights and the Tikkun Leyl Shavuot.
  • Match up teens with appropriate leadership and educational opportunities both within the Conservative Movement and beyond.

 Program Developer

  • Develop and implement monthly teen programs and initiatives, including social, cultural, and/or educational experiences.
  • Chaperone and facilitate teen engagement with B’nai Israel overnight trips.
  • Build relationships with local Jewish teen clubs in high schools and other institutions.

 Service Leader

  • Collaborate with B’nai Israel teens to build a tefillah and/or learning experience for our Teen Minyan which meets on Shabbat mornings two times per month.
  • Support the primary service leader for our Teen High Holiday services.


  • Oversee B’nai Israel’s Teen Mitzvah Corps in consultation with the clergy and external partners as part of our Hebrew High program.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Communications and other relevant staff members to advertise, promote, and recruit teen participants for B’nai Israel programs and events.
  • Budget and calendar for the year in consultation with the Youth Coordinator.


Passionate about working with Jewish youth and teens, excellent communication skills, tech-savvy with social media, empathetic with strong boundaries, creative thinker, knowledgeable in Conservative Judaism, high integrity, and organizational proficiency.

Education and Experience:

College degree preferred

Experience in Jewish youth and/or campus Jewish life programming.
