Second Grade Teacher

Seeking a kind, warm, and open-hearted individual to teach our 2nd grade students on Sunday mornings.

At NVHC, our grade students follow the Jewish calendar to explore a taste of Judaism and Jewish learning. They lear about Torah stories, Israel, Jewish values, Jewish holidays, and a basic introduction to Hebrew letters. Students do this through hands-on learning opportunities, indoor and outdoor learning, art projects, stories, baking, and more! The ideal candidate is someone who is knowledgeable and confident in their own Jewish identity and who can model a love of Judaism for our learners. We strive at Kehilat Limmud (KL, our religious school) to create classrooms where students are fully welcome and create strong friendships with their peers.

Hours: Sundays, 9:00am-12:00pm, plus half an hour of compensated preparation time

Compensation: $30/hour

Beginning as soon as possible, no later than September 10, 2023.

All synagogue staff must be fully vaccinated (including a booster) against COVID-19. Prior experience teaching and writing lessons plans is preferable but not required.
