Sid Jacobson JCC and its surrounding campus, the Bernice Jacobson Day School and Camp provide a full range of cutting-edge recreational, health, fitness, educational, cultural arts, and social services programs. We are looking for seasonal, part-time & full-time Custodian to add to our family.  We need reliable, responsible custodians to help maintain and care for our facilities.  The ideal candidates would be custodians who are careful and thorough in their work, cleaning and maintaining the premises with great care and an eye for detail.  We also want people who are consistently available and highly present.  If you are an experienced custodian who is reliable, focused, committed to building upkeep, and would like to work in a family oriented environment then we want to hear from you.  This position is in Nassau County, Long Island.


How You’ll Help Us Be Successful:

  • Pool Maintenance Experience
  • Follow all safety standards and guidelines
  • Sweep/Dust corridors, offices, locker rooms, staff lounge, and bathrooms
  • Empty all wastebaskets and/or trash bins daily, replace liners as needed
  • Replenish supplies required for staff lounge, restrooms, and offices
  • Maintain cleaning supplies and notify Facilities Supervisor when additional supplies are needed
  • Verify shipping paperwork (packing slips) to shipped merchandise.
  • Clean and sanitize refrigerators, staff lounge sinks/counters, and restroom sinks/urinals.
  • Vacuum and spot clean carpets as necessary
  • Assist with the internal distribution of packages and bulk mail
  • Undertake seasonal tasks (e.g. working outdoors during different season)
  • Other duties as assigned


What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

  • The position requires a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Position requires individual to have one-year experience custodial experience in industrial buildings, office buildings, food service industry buildings and /or other related facilities
  • Individual must meet company's hiring criteria
  • Individual must have working knowledge of industrial cleaning solutions and their various uses with the ability to read and understand labels and safety information
  • Individual must be proficient with basic hand tools and machinery
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instruction
