ABOUT YOU
Congregation Rodeph Sholom seeks a creative, tech-savvy, and self-motivated Marketing and Communications Coordinator to promote the synagogue across all channels, including website, social media, print, emails, and public relations. The ideal candidate will create fresh and innovative content that not only informs but generates excitement about CRS for current members, potential members, and the larger community. This position works in conjunction with the program, development, membership, and clergy teams on various projects and will work closely with the entire CRS staff. 

WORK SCHEDULE
Our team works on a hybrid schedule. All our team members must be flexible and able to adapt to short- and long-term shifts in their job duties. Working hours are generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4:00 PM on Fridays); additional hours may be required evenings and weekends.? 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Engagement and Program, is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:  

  • Work interdepartmentally to facilitate and execute marketing and communications needs. 
  • Create and maintain project timelines and ensure projects stay on track and deadlines are met. 
  • Manage social media accounts, including content ideation, execution, and community management; manage paid social campaigns. 
  • Manage the execution of all email marketing campaigns and audience management in tandem with internal departments (development, membership, youth, etc.).
  • Create, monitor, and update website content.
  • Support the Director of Engagement and Program in working with and managing external vendors/freelancers to ideate and create marketing collateral, ensure high-quality work and timely execution. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engagement and Program on monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing reports including data collection and analysis. 
  • Manage the advertising of events for external websites and online community groups. 
  • Assist in managing video/photography assets. Take photos at events as needed. 
  • Provide department support including scheduling, agenda creation, presentations, meeting recaps, and follow through. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To be successful in this job, you excel in the following areas:  

A Great Communicator: Clear, efficient, and effective writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Impactful storyteller who can write and tell a story on different forms of media. Constant Contact experience or another email marketing platform is strongly preferred. Graphic design knowledge and/or Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva experience is a plus. 

A Skillful Marketer: Working knowledge of marketing strategies, digital tools, social media, and best practices. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications, WordPress and other internet applications. Comfortable learning new platforms where necessary. Monday.com or other project management platform experience is a plus. 

A Forward Thinker: Advanced organizational and planning skills are needed. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask. Ability to coordinate activities and see a project through from start to finish.   

An Independent Worker and a Team Player: Ability to work independently or as a member of the team. Manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment and be willing to ask questions when challenges arise.  

A Critical Thinker: Ability to look at information from an audience and/or user-friendly standpoint and present that information in a clear and engaging way. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Associate’s degree required, with concentration in Communications or Marketing preferred. 
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. 
  • Proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft 365. 
  • Experience in nonprofit and/or Jewish organization, is a plus. 

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Salary range: $50,000 - $54,000; commensurate with experience.
