Camp Judaea is a Jewish and Zionist camp, part of the Young Judaea movement. CJ is looking for someone to be our Head of Program Education for Summer 2025. This individual will be responsible for planning and coordinating campwide educational programs, infusing education into activity areas, and collaborating with the Head of Eda Education on Jewish ritual practices at camp, as well as Jewish and Israel educational programming for all of camp.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with Activity Areas to infuse Judaism and Israel education into programming
  • Foster a culture of Jewish Teachable moments throughout the camp program 
  • Create fun, innovative, experiential ways for campers to interact with Judaism and Israel
  • Planning and facilitating Shabbatayada (Friday pre-Shabbat “festival”) and other special events/programs
  • Planning and coordinating daily t’filot with cabins leading
  • Plan and coordinate Friday alternative t’fliot
  • Work with the Merakez/et and Eda leading Shabbat on the weekly Shabbat program

With the Head of Eda Education:  

  • Work with merakzim on planning and implementing camp wide Jewish/Israel programs
  • Planning and coordinating bar/bat mitzvahs (if we have any)
  • Help with all-camp events and programs
  • Serve as a member of the summer leadership team 
  • Be present in all camp activities

Full Summer Dates: May 25th - August 31st. Potential to work half of the summer / only one session. 
If the individual is available for the full summer, they may also have the opportunity to serve as Rosh Chinuch (Head of Education), with additional responsibilities including overseeing the education team, daily educational activities, and ritual and observance across camp.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in Jewish education, camp and youth work
  • Knowledge of Jewish Ritual, Israel and Jewish education
  • Ability to make Judaism and education fun and engaging
  • Charisma and presence in front of large groups of youth
  • Organized, Flexible, and Creative
