Who We Are J Teen Connect AZ (JTCAZ), part of the Valley of the Sun J’s Youth Department, is the go-to hub for Jewish teen engagement information and opportunities across Greater Phoenix, connecting 8th–12th graders to dynamic programs that inspire/offer Jewish/Israel connection, leadership, social action, education, fitness, summer travel programs, and internship opportunities.
What You’ll Do As the Director of JTCAZ, you’ll lead all aspects of JTCAZ’s outreach, programming, and leadership development efforts, ensuring teens have access and are inspired to thrive in vibrant Jewish life.

Community Outreach:

Serve as the primary liaison in the community connecting teens to Jewish/Israel programs and organizations throughout the valley and beyond.

Regular outreach to teen programs for information on upcoming events/opportunities.

Website content/updates of programsDevelopment of robust social media presence/connections with teens and parentManage e-newsletter and grow its audience.

Organize signature events like “What’s What: Jewish Teen Programs101, teen showcases, and summer program fairs

Work with volunteer committee to help with outreach opportunities.

Research and promote Israel travel, leadership summits, summer opportunities and other enrichment opportunities.

Program Support & Leadership Development:

Create and mentor a teen leadership board

Develop programming focused on Jewish/Israel advocacy, leadership and education in partnership with relevant community organizations.

Support teen program directors by planning/offering professional development, inspiring collaboration and providing assistance with program evaluation.

Foster a deep connection to Israel and passion for Zionism for our Jewish teens.

Advocacy, Education & Collaboration:

Foster partnerships and collaborations with umbrella Jewish organizations (e.g., CJP, JNF, etc), synagogues, Hebrew High, rabbis, youth groups, teen programs, etc. to strengthen community engagement.

Promote programs that highlight Israel and Jewish identity.

Investigate and then inspire organizations to develop/bring in effective educational and leadership programs from other communities based on ongoing and changing needs of the teen community (Israel literacy, Jewish leadership, etc).

Financial Management:

Oversee JTCAZ’s budget, grants, and financial incentives.
