Teach Coalition, a project of the Orthodox Union, works to make nonpublic schools better, safer and more affordable through advocacy and grassroots activism.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Teach Coalition seeks a proactive, self-motivated, and flexible Development Assistant to provide essential administrative support to help grow Teach Coalition’s donor network. It is a fast-paced and high energy work environment, and the role requires a team-player with the ability to multitask, trouble-shoot, and be a forward-thinker. He/she will work closely with other staff to achieve major fundraising goals. This includes fundraising through foundation grants, corporate partners, direct mail, school membership, special events, and a focus on individual giving. This is a full-time position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Maintain pipeline and build prospect lists
•Maintain and update donor records and contact information
•Prospect research
•Assist with collateral materials for grant submissions
•Generate and analyze giving lists/reports Generating LYBUNT/SYBUNT donor reports and analysis on a periodic basis Monthly/Quarterly Donor Reports for Senior Staff Generating Board Giving Reports, For all Public Affairs Divisions generating Event reports (pre and post), For all Public Affairs Divisions
•Working closing with Associate Director of Public Affairs on tracking monthly/quarterly departmental Financial Reviews, including tracking year-end fundraising goals and generating detailed reports for Senior staff on departmental budgets and expenses
•Track attendance at events
•Assist with solicitation mailings, including year-end appeals.
•Plan and prepare necessary materials for internal and external meetings, programs, events, and trips, including one-sheets, presentations, logistics and supplies.
•Maintain development calendar and materials, coordinating on content updates, event listings, photos, and other matters requiring attention.
•Address inquiries from donors and lay leaders. Screen calls and respond to situations as appropriate, corresponding with donors and professionals as independently as possible small portfolio of donors with the opportunity to expand portfolio over time
•Project management for the Development team and Director Overall administrative and support assistance to the Development team and Office of Public Affairs
Coordinating all Donor Billing for OU Advocacy Dept
Coordinating and Maintaining all Teach School Billing for all Teach state divisions
Handling the back-end logistics for all Development Dept campaigns and events, as directed by Development Director; also for campaigns generated by OUA National
Generating outward facing Quarterly Donor Reports to Teach Donors
Coordinating direct-mail fundraising campaigns
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Computer savvy
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a strong ability to edit and proofread documents. •Great interpersonal skills
•Experience in fast-paced work environments; ability to take the initiative and meet deadlines.
•Detail-oriented approach to work with strong organizational skills
•Excellent team player
•A flexible approach to work with the willingness to work some evenings, if needed.
