We are seeking part time Religious School teachers for the upcoming academic year, for grades K-12 with a passion for engaging with children through a Jewish lens. Our teachers incorporate creativity and experiential education into curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom. Faculty members play a vital role in shaping the Jewish identities of our students by creating warm, engaging classroom environments that foster connection, curiosity, and a love of Jewish life and learning.

Responsibilities: 

  • Teach students using our established curriculum, which emphasizes Jewish values, holidays, history, Hebrew, Torah, and current events.
  • Create interactive, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that bring Jewish learning to life.
  • Collaborate with education staff and fellow teachers to enhance the learning experience.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, as needed.
  • Collaborating with school administration and other faculty members to create innovative and meaningful Jewish learning experiences, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Providing a sense of caring and concern that enables our students to support one another and challenge themselves to grow as individuals
  • Participate in faculty training sessions, holiday programming, and school-wide events throughout the year.
  • Uphold the values and inclusive philosophy of Reform Judaism in the classroom. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience teaching or working with children or teens (Jewish educational experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and values.
  • Comfort teaching in a Reform Jewish context.
  • Ability to teach any combination of the following: Hebrew, Bible, Jewish history, and holidays incorporating arts, drama, movement, or media
  • Experience in classroom or informal education, such as Jewish camp or afterschool programs.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and nurturing teaching style.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Hebrew knowledge is a plus.

Schedule: 

Sunday Mornings 9am-12pm, Tuesday Evenings 6pm-8pm and/or Wednesday Afternoons 4pm-6:30pm. One day a week is mandatory, multiple is optional. Compensation depends on experience and education.
