The Executive Director is responsible for the efficient operations of all the support functions of Adath Emanu-El, including management of its professional, support and facilities staff, the synagogue’s fiscal management and member relations. This position reports to the President of the Board of Trustees, and collaborates closely with the Rabbi.
Work with the Board and its Committees to develop and implement policies to support the operation of Adath Emanu-El in a manner consistent with their goals and the values of Judaism.
Manage the administrative staff of Adath Emanu-El to insure they deliver effective and efficient services to the congregation.
Work closely with the Rabbi and deliver services to support her in accomplishing the religious goals and programs of Adath Emanu-El.
Manage the financial operations of the congregation including the development of the annual budget, preparation of annual and monthly financial reports, dues collections, disbursements and purchasing consistent with the directions of the Finance Committee.
Plan and implement the synagogue’s security strategy.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and insurers to provide the necessary support services and coverage to the synagogue.
Assist the religious school, preschool and daycare directors in achieving their goals by delivering administrative and other support to them, the students and parents.
Manage the maintenance of the building and grounds of Adath Emanu-El to insure a safe and clean operational environment thru staff and vendors.
Work with the various committees of the Board to provide any necessary support to their activities and programs at Adath Emanu-El.
Assist congregants and other groups who hold affairs at Adath Emanu-El with the selection of vendors, insure the serving of food and beverages is consistent with Adath Emanu-El’s policies and a clean up of the facility is completed after the event.
Maintain, update and communicate the annual activity and event calendar of Adath Emanu-El to insure orderly use of the building.
Interface with town and county entities to be sure Adath Emanu-El complies with all regulations and licensing requirements.
Direct communications to congregants to keep them aware of services and programs at Adath Emanu-El.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 based on experience and qualifications. The benefits package includes paid vacation and sick leave; paid major US and Jewish holidays; medical, dental, and vision insurance.
