Temple Sinai Brookline is Seeking a Music Educator and Songleader
Sinai Brookline, a warm and progressive Reform synagogue at Coolidge Corner in Brookline, is seeking a Music Educator and Songleader for the 2025 – 2026 school year. Our music educator works primarily with our religious school community, from our K’tonton program (3 and 4 year olds) through 7th grade. The music educator meets with our students on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm each week.
Pay is competitive: $55-$75 per hour depending on education and experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-teaching a variety of Jewish songs to our children, introducing them to new music and melodies for prayer, holiday songs, and rituals;
-exploring the diversity of the Jewish world by teaching music from communities of different geographical and linguistic backgrounds;
-collaborating with our senior leadership team on music curriculum development;
-leading our families in Havdalah songs one Sunday per month for our family education programming (meets during religious school hours).
Experience and qualifications:
-previous experience with songleading in Jewish settings strongly desired. Experience songleading at (Reform) Jewish camp is a plus!
-knowledge of Jewish music and a willingness to learn new songs;
-experience working with children and a love for teaching;
-a strong collaborative orientation, with an interest in building relationships with our teachers and families and connecting meaningfully with our students.
