CAJE Teen Program Coordinator and Project Specialist

The Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE-Miami), the educational arm of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, is seeking a dynamic team player to join our talented Teen Department. You will operate in a supportive, inspiring hybrid environment, engaging in meaningful work that enhances the lives of teens and strives to make a positive impact in the world.

In this role, you will coordinate the annual IsraelNow Miami program for 8th graders. You will support congregational schools with professional development and resources, and engage in community education planning on Israel and Antisemitism. Additionally, you will manage social media and content for CAJE. As an integral member of the Teen Department, you will report directly to the Teen Department Director and contribute significantly to our mission.

Responsibilities

Israel and Antisemitism Education Initiative (40%)

• Congregational Education Support: Support congregational educators in logistics and administrative tasks for professional development, enhancement stipends, and scholarships provided by the Federation for congregational schools. Communicate and assist in providing professional development resources, including organizing applications for grants and scholarships, coordinating meetings with directors, setting agendas, and researching opportunities.
• Understanding the Landscape: Assist in developing a comprehensive survey for CAJE professionals to assess Holocaust, Israel, and Antisemitism education within their departments. Conduct follow-up conversations to identify ongoing efforts and propose new areas of focus.
• Identify Gaps and Opportunities: Analyze consolidated information to identify gaps and opportunities in education on these topics. Help formulate recommendations for next steps, emphasizing how CAJE departments can effectively serve the community.
• Private School Engagement: Collaborate with OpenDor Media to engage the private school sector, leveraging the Unpacked for Educators professional development program. Assist in integrating these workshops into private school settings.
• Public School Engagement: Identify opportunities to engage with and support local public schools in Israel, Antisemitism, and Holocaust education in coordination with Federation, JCRC, the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial, and other community organizations.

Special Projects (30%)

• Organize the IsraelNow Miami program, which may include the following:
  • Recruitment and Engagement: Act as the primary recruiter for IsraelNow’s local 8th-grade Israel experience, aiming to recruit 36 teens and 6 staff for the Spring Break 2025 program. Engage local synagogues and organizational partners for participation.
  • Program Development: Facilitate and support the development of educational programs for pre- and post-trip events, including three Sunday teen sessions, one parent orientation, one staff training, and virtual interviews with all teens and their parents. Assist in creating local curricula.
  • Logistics and Liaison: Serve as a liaison with Jewish communal professionals, community stakeholders, CAJE, and the Federation for trip logistics and pre/post programming. Attend all IsraelNow national team meetings, local interviews, orientations, national staff training, etc.
  • Communication: Keep parents, teens, and staff up to date regarding meetings, payments, forms, etc. Create and disseminate public communications for the IsraelNow program, including marketing materials and follow-up reports and pre/post activities.
    
    
• Community Engagement: Serve as a concierge for teens post-trip from IsraelNow or community teens in general, helping them stay connected and involved in the Miami Jewish community through events, volunteer opportunities, and educational programs.
• Support for Teen Programs: Assist with the educational and logistical needs of other teen programs within CAJE (Diller Teen Fellows & March of the Living), which may include staffing occasional events, Shabbatons, workshops, traveling with groups, supporting or facilitating educational sessions, and providing general support to ensure program success.

Social Media, Content Management, and Marketing (30%)

• Content Creation: Assist in managing CAJE agency accounts, specifically Facebook and Instagram for CAJE, JTEEN, MOTL. Create content, develop graphics in Canva, and engage with followers.
• Engagement Strategies: Collaborate with marketing professionals to increase CAJE’s social media following by producing creative, branded content.
• Analytics and Adaptation: Analyze social media data to gain insights into target audiences, adjust content for maximum engagement, and measure success based on analytics.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure visually engaging content while maintaining brand consistency across CAJE departments.
• Newsletters: Contribute 2-4 articles per year for the CAJE Shabbat Shalom Newsletter.

This would equate to the following (roughly) noting that some weeks may be more time in one area versus another:

• Israel and Antisemitism Education Initiative: 14 hours per week (40%)
• Special Projects: 10.5 hours per week (30%)
• Social Media and Content Management: 10.5 hours per week (30%)

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates enrolled in evening/weekend programs in pursuit of a Bachelors or Masters will be considered.
• Experience: Israel travel experience, preferably including group travel. Experience in social media management and content creation.
• Skills:
  • Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to effectively communicate with parents, teens, volunteers, donors, and staff in person, virtually, and by phone. Public speaking and facilitation abilities are a plus.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Comfortable with or willing to learn online tools such as Google Suite, Asana, Airtable, Canva, JotForms, Formstack, Salesforce, CampMinder, DonorPerfect, SquareSpace, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Planning/Organizing: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively. Attention to detail is essential.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to manage multiple projects, adapting to changes and handling unexpected events.
  • Dependability: Punctual and responsive, follows instructions, listens well, and seeks feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including professional email and phone etiquette. Bilingual in Spanish or Hebrew is a plus.
