Description

The Executive Assistant to the Rosh Yeshiva is a key member of the administrative team, providing high-level support to the Rosh Yeshiva and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Rosh Yeshiva’s office. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion. In addition to the role as executive assistant, this position will also serve as a member of the office team, supporting general office responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

  • Manage the Rosh Yeshiva’s calendar, appointments, and meetings
  • Screen and prioritize incoming priorities and responsibilities
  • Draft, edit, and proofread communications, presentations, and reports
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, including agendas, materials, and minutes
  • Maintain organized and confidential files and records

School Operations & Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact between the Rosh Yeshiva and internal/external stakeholders
  • Support major school events and initiatives led by the Rosh Yeshiva (e.g., open house, commencement, leadership retreats)

Project Management

  • Assist in tracking strategic initiatives and follow-up tasks
  • Conduct background research and prepare briefing materials for internal and external meetings
  • Support administrative elements of accreditation, reporting, and policy documentation

Confidentiality and Discretion

  • Maintain confidentiality in all sensitive matters relating to the school, students, families, and personnel
  • Handle confidential personnel and student matters with tact and professionalism

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in executive-level administrative support, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and calendar management software
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional demeanor and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Flexibility, good judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role with occasional evening or weekend commitments for school events or meetings
