The Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE-Miami), the educational arm of the
Greater Miami Jewish Federation, is seeking a team player to collaborate with our talented Teen
Department. You will be working in a healthy, supportive office environment (in person and/or
remote) and engaging in interesting, inspiring work that seeks to improve our world and enhance
the lives of teens.
This candidate will be responsible for collaborating with IsraelNow – a trip to Israel that takes
Jewish eighth-graders on an educational and transformative journey. You will craft, implement
and review the program and vision for IsraelNow eighth grade Israel experiences in the Miami-Dade community. You will serve as a liaison with Jewish communal professionals, community
stakeholders, CAJE, and the Federation for trip logistics and pre/post programming.

CAJE-Miami is the educational leadership agency of the Greater Miami Jewish Community with a
budget of over $3M with 17 employees who serve our 6 markets/departments: Adult Learning,
The Miami Jewish Film Festival, Teen Education and Engagement, Jewish Day (Parochial) Schools,
Congregational Education, and Early Childhood Education.
Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
What you will be doing (principal duties/responsibilities/tasks of the role, typical day):
- Act as the primary recruiter for IsraelNow’s local 8th grade Israel experience, work on
program and support for pre and post-trip events, staff IsraelNow trips at the discretion
of supervisor, assist in development of local curricula for trip and partners, assist with
and participate in program evaluations and track and work with local IsraelNow alumni
on post-trip follow-up.
- Attend all IsraelNow national team meetings, local interviews, and orientations, national
staff training, etc.
- Assist with local staff recruitment and training
- Engage local synagogue and organizational partners for participation and pre/post
- Other tasks as directed by local supervisor
- Keep parents, teens, and staff up to date regarding meetings, payments, forms, etc.
- Comfortability in speaking to parents on the phone regarding the program, payments,
- Create and disseminate public communications for the IsraelNow program, including
marketing materials, flyers, postcards, posters, letterhead, banners, and coordination
with printing companies
- Prepare and organize communication systems ensuring the content, schedule, and
information are accurate and up-to-date for the IsraelNow program
- Assist staff, participants, and parents in gaining access to the communication system
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
What you need to succeed (qualifications/required skills needed):
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates enrolled in evening/weekend programs in pursuit of a
Bachelors or Masters will be considered.
- Israel travel experience, preferably including group travel
- Knowledge of, passion for, and authentic personal connection to relevant issues of
Jewish communal life, familiarity with Jewish calendar and lifecycle, passion for Israel,
and working with teens
- A dynamic and outgoing personality with the ability to develop relationships with a
variety of age groups
- Self-motivated forward thinker, entrepreneurial spirit
- Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent people/customer service skills to
communicate with parents, teens, volunteers, donors, and staff, in person, virtually,
and by telephone. Public speaking skills. Ability to use sound judgment, discretion, and
maintain confidentiality when dealing with families, volunteers and community
- Computer Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint). Familiar and/or open to using online systems such as: Google Suit, Asana,
Airtable, Canva, JotForms, Formstack, Salesforce, CampMinder, Donor Perfect,
SquareSpace, Facebook, Instagram etc.
- Planning/Organizing: Ability to plan and prioritize work activities and use time
efficiently. Requires excellent organization of own work. Continual attention to detail in
composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting
- Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment, can manage multiple
projects, and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Dependability: On time, listens well, follows instructions, responds to management
direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.
Written and oral communication: Command of the English language, including written
and oral communication skills; professional email and telephone manner. Bilingual in
either Spanish or Hebrew is a plus.
- Availability: The job requires some weekday evenings and 3-4 Sundays (roughly 12PM –
5PM). Knowledge and understanding of Jewish culture are a plus.
